Match Report - 18 Sep 2011, Maclay Football Club Red beat Penn & Tylers Green Rangers

Maclay Red started the season in style with an impressive away win at Penn & Tylers Green Rangers. The match was evenly fought for the first half hour but then Maclay moved through the gears and the goals started to come. CALLUM MILES opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 30th minute after Edward Butler-Caddle was tripped in the box. JAMES MANNERS crashed in a trademark volley 3 minutes later to make the score two nil before EDWARD BUTLER-CADDLE made it three nil in the 38th minute at the after an impressive run from midfield. Two well taken goals from Man of the Match ROBIN NIVEN and another fine goal from JAMES MANNERS 9 minutes from the end completed the scoring. The whole Maclay team played very well with the midfield pairing of McCormack and Butler-Caddle shining brightly in the first half whilst centre backs Hauck and Heath won everything that came their way. The match was played in a fine spirit and P&TGR made the Maclay players and parents very welcome.
