Match Report - 06 May 2012, Maclay Football Club Red lost to Penn & Tylers Green (Final)
Oh so close, but not close enough. Maclay narrowly lost the League Cup Final when Penn & Tylers Green won the match with a goal two minutes from the end of extra time. Maclay had taken the lead against the run of play when CHRIS HEATH headed in Jake DeSouza's corner in the 6th minute. Prunty and Manners both had good chances but could not convert them. Penn equalised 5 minutes before half time and there was no more scoring on normal time. ROBIN NIVEN put Maclay 2-1 ahead in extra time but two goals from Penn meant that Maclay ultimately lost their third cup final in a year. TOM DYKE narrowly pipped Chris Heath to Man of the Match for his endless running and tackling.
