Match Report - 20 Nov 2011, Maclay Football Club Red beat Tring Tornadoes

Maclay marched into the last sixteen of the League Cup with this fine win at Tring. An under strength Tring team started the match very well and had the better of the first fifteen minutes. Maclay defended stoutly before Man of the Match CALUM ALEXANDER opened the scoring after 20 minutes with a cross that sailed into the top corner. JAKE DE SOUZA gave Maclay a two goal cushion at the break by scoring an impressive free kick in the 38th minute. Maclay improved after the break and after weathering some early pressure from the hard working Tring side, two goals from ROBIN NIVEN and one from ace striker JAMES MANNERS secured the win. Maclay will have another away match when they play in the fourth round on 15th January.
