Match Report - 18 Nov 2012, Maclay Football Club White drew with Thame Boys
Maclay travelled to Thame with a big squad today. A positive start saw Maclay pass the ball well. An early penalty and we took the lead as Pat considered putting the ball and keeper in the net. Luckily for the keepers fingers he didn't get a hand on it, as it was struck with such venom. Maclay had numerous opportunities in the first half but were unable to capitalise. The second half saw Thame take both of their chances clinically. Maclay were a little sporadic in their play failing to keep the ball for log enough and were not positive their passing and one touch football. We certainly did not deserve to lose and Nat managed to squeeze the ball in for his first goal for Maclay.
To our credit Thame thanked us for a good game of football played in the appropriate spirit. No man of the match this week with no stand out player who made the difference to help us claim victory.
One or two touch football with a more concerted effort to keep the ball and with a positive pass is the way to win.
Please make sure you update you availability for the next few weeks.
