Match Report
Match Report - 22 Jan 2012, Maclay Football Club Red beat Aylesbury Athletic Youth
To use the old cliche, this was a game of two halves. Maclay swept to a four goal lead by half time but Athletic came back strongly in the last half hour of the match but were only rewarded with two goals. Headed goals from SAM HAUCK and ROBERT PRUNTY put Maclay two up after fifteen minutes before CALLUM MILES scored one of his trademark 25 yard free kicks to make it 3-0. JAKE DE SOUZA scored the fourth just before the break with a neat left foot shot on the turn. JAMES LAGDON won Mon of the Match for an accomplished performance in the Maclay goal and was unlucky not to save the penalty that brought Athletic back into the game. This result put Maclay back on top of the table as they leapfrogged Athletic who had started the day one point ahead.
